Episode 88: the Post Office Scandal - What can we learn?

Author: And Evolve Ltd January 8, 2024 Duration: 16:35
Many of us will have watched the documentary called 'Mr Bates vs The Post Office', which showed the way sub-postmasters were treated after the roll-out of a new computer system which started to show hundred of sub-postmasters having huge gaps in their takings. Instead of questioning the system, the default of the senior leadership team was to blame their people. Not just blame, but to pursue criminal prosecutions and convictions, which were based on errors. Lives were wreaked, lives were lost, yet no one has been held to account. What can we learn from The Post Office scandal? Join Amrit for this week's podcast as he shares his thoughts.

At the heart of every successful company are the people who show up every day, and Engaging People, Powering Companies-The Leadership Podcast digs into the human dynamics that make organizations thrive. Hosted by And Evolve Ltd, these conversations move beyond abstract theory to examine the real, often messy, work of building great workplace cultures and effective leaders. You’ll hear practical explorations of how genuine employee engagement is fostered, why the employee experience directly impacts results, and what it takes to develop talent at every level. This podcast serves as a resource for anyone curious about the intersection of leadership, learning, and the social fabric of work-from managers seeking to improve their team's productivity to individuals invested in their own growth. Each episode considers how relationships and intentional management shape our professional environments, ultimately linking personal development to organizational health. It’s a thoughtful look at the systems and conversations that power modern companies, grounded in the belief that business is, fundamentally, a human endeavor.
