Wildfires in Canada have become a major story in the US because the smoke from those fires have traveled a very long way, covering the skies of cities in the Upper Midwest as far south as Chicago, over nearly all of Michigan, and to major population centers in the Northeast. Much media coverage blames the fires on human-caused climate change. But what does the actual data say?
