516 – Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Kids Review Elio, 28 Years Later

Author: Katey, Matt, Da7e and David June 26, 2025 Duration: 1:28:32

This week, Katey and Patches both had children who had seen Pixar’s Elio in theaters but were home sick, so as responsible parents, they were used for content – this week’s mini segment! Also, David Ehrlich has played more Death Stranding 2: On the Beach than most people on Earth at this point, and he has some thoughts that lead to more discussion of video games brushing up against film. Finally, the boys saw 28 Years Later and attempt to explain what they saw to Katey, including talking about the second half of the movie and ending (starting at 1 hour and 12 minutes in).

Every other week, the lively and often heated conversation begins around the microphones. Fighting In The War Room: A Movies And Pop Culture Podcast is exactly what it sounds like: a spirited, no-holds-barred debate between four distinct critical voices. Hosts Katey, Matt, Da7e, and David-each a prolific critic with their own sharp perspective-dive into the latest film releases, dissect trending TV, and unpack the pop culture moments everyone is talking about. The dynamic is less a formal review and more like eavesdropping on a passionate, informed, and frequently hilarious argument among friends who happen to know everything about movies. Alongside their regular bi-weekly deep dives, they occasionally sit down with very special guests from across the industry, adding even more fuel to the fire. Listening to this podcast feels like being part of the conversation, where strong opinions are welcomed and the analysis is always as entertaining as it is insightful. You’re not just getting four reviews in one; you’re getting the clash and synthesis of ideas that happens when smart, film-obsessed people refuse to agree quietly.
