Flock Safety Cameras Are “Surveillance”, TJ Walker Says We Need More of Them

Author: TJ Walker August 11, 2026 Duration: 18:07

lock Safety’s automated license plate readers have become one of America’s most controversial police technologies. Critics on both the left and right warn that the growing network creates a mass-surveillance system that can track where innocent people travel and potentially be abused by police or other government agencies.

TJ Walker agrees those concerns are real, but argues that banning the technology is the wrong answer.

In this episode of Filtered with TJ Walker, TJ makes the case that Flock Safety cameras could do far more than help police locate suspected criminals. He argues they could be paired with automated traffic enforcement to discourage speeding, red-light running, and other dangerous driving while reducing the need for officers to manually conduct traffic enforcement.

The larger question: When technology can make law enforcement more effective and potentially save lives, should fears about surveillance stop us from using it?

TJ examines the tradeoff between privacy, government power, public safety, traffic deaths, police efficiency, and personal freedom, and explains why he believes stronger safeguards against abuse make more sense than eliminating the technology altogether.
