El: Το φεγγάρι έλαμπε πάνω από την Ακρόπολη, κάνοντας τις αρχαίες πέτρες να φαίνονται μαγικές.
En: The moon shone over the Acropolis, making the ancient stones look magical.
El: Η Καλλιόπη καθόταν σε ένα πέτρινο παγκάκι, τυλιγμένη σε ένα ζεστό παλτό.
En: Kalliopi sat on a stone bench, wrapped in a warm coat.
El: Όλοι γύρω της γιόρταζαν το Νέο Έτος με κέφι και αγκαλιές.
En: Everyone around her was celebrating the New Year with joy and hugs.
El: Η Καλλιόπη όμως, κοιτούσε την ομορφιά της Αθήνας και σκεφτόταν τον Ανδρέα.
En: However, Kalliopi was gazing at the beauty of Athens and thinking of Andreas.
El: Ο Ανδρέας έμενε στο εξωτερικό για δουλειά.
En: Andreas was living abroad for work.
El: Μιλούσαν καθημερινά, αλλά οι διαφορές ώρας έκαναν δύσκολη την επικοινωνία.
En: They talked every day, but the time differences made communication difficult.
El: Το μόνο που ήθελε η Καλλιόπη ήταν να αισθανθεί κοντά του αυτές τις γιορτές.
En: All Kalliopi wanted was to feel close to him during these holidays.

En: As midnight approached, the bells began to ring.

El: «Καλλιόπη, χρόνια πολλά!» άκουσε τη φωνή του, χαρούμενη, από την άλλη άκρη της γραμμής.
En: “Kalliopi, happy New Year!” she heard his joyful voice from the other end of the line.
El: Η καρδιά της χτύπησε έντονα.
En: Her heart pounded.
El: «Μακάρι να ήσουν εδώ,» είπε εκείνος.
En: "I wish you were here," he said.
El: Μίλησαν για ώρες, θυμήθηκαν παλιές καλές στιγμές και έκαναν σχέδια για το πότε θα ξαναβρεθούν.
En: They talked for hours, reminisced about good old times, and made plans for when they would meet again.
El: Η Καλλιόπη ένιωσε ξανά ελπίδα.
En: Kalliopi felt hopeful again.
El: Ήξερε ότι, όσο κι αν τους χώριζε η απόσταση, η αγάπη τους τους έδενε ανίκητα.
En: She knew that, no matter the distance between them, their love bound them inseparably.
