El: Καθώς ο ήλιος έδυε στον ορίζοντα, το νησί της Σαντορίνης έλαμπε με μοναδική ομορφιά.
En: As the sun set on the horizon, the island of Santorini shone with unique beauty.
El: Ο Νίκος και η Έλενα βρισκόντουσαν πάνω στη βεράντα της διάσημης εκκλησίας με τους μπλε τρούλους.
En: Nikos and Elena were on the terrace of the famous church with the blue domes.
El: Ο Νίκος έβλεπε τα σύννεφα να γίνονται ροδακινί και οι καρδιές τους χτυπούσαν με τον ίδιο ρυθμό.
En: Nikos watched the clouds turn peach and their hearts beat in unison.
El: Ο Νίκος ήταν έτοιμος να κάνει την κίνηση.
En: Nikos was ready to make the move.
El: Έβγαλε από την τσέπη το μικρό κόκκινο κουτί.
En: He took the small red box out of his pocket.
El: Η Έλενα κοιτούσε το θαύμα του τοπίου, χαμογελούσε.
En: Elena was looking at the wonder of the landscape, smiling.
El: Μα μόλις ο Νίκος ετοιμάστηκε να γονατίσει, ένα γιλάκι άρχισε να περιφέρεται γύρω τους, κρώζοντας δυνατά.
En: But as Nikos was preparing to kneel, a gilaki started circling around them, cawing loudly.
El: «Τι τρελό πουλί,» σκέφτηκε ο Νίκος και προσπάθησε να συνεχίσει.
En: "What a crazy bird," Nikos thought and tried to continue.
El: Το γιλάκι, όμως, δεν είχε πει ακόμα την τελευταία του λέξη.
En: However, the gilaki hadn't said its last word yet.
El: Έκανε βουτιά και πήρε το κουτί από τα χέρια του με το ράμφος του!
En: It dived and snatched the box from his hands with its beak!
El: Η Έλενα γέλασε έκπληκτη.
En: Elena laughed, surprised.
El: Ο Νίκος, πανικόβλητος, άρχισε να τρέχει πίσω από το πτηνό, που πετούσε πάνω από τη βεράντα.
En: Nikos, in a panic, began to chase after the bird, which was flying above the terrace.
El: Η Έλενα τον ακολουθούσε, γελώντας δυνατά.
En: Elena followed him, laughing loudly.
El: Ο Νίκος έτρεχε, περιμένοντας την κατάλληλη στιγμή.
En: Nikos ran, waiting for the right moment.
El: Όταν το γιλάκι προσγειώθηκε σε ένα κυπαρίσσι, ο Νίκος με μια έξυπνη κίνηση το πλησίασε και έκανε το γιλάκι να αφήσει το κουτί.
En: When the gilaki landed on a cypress, Nikos cleverly approached it and made the gilaki drop the box.
El: Δυνατά χειροκροτήματα αντήχησαν.
En: Loud applause echoed.
El: Κρατώντας το κουτί, ο Νίκος επέστρεψε κοντά στην Έλενα, έσκυψε και άνοιξε επιτέλους το κουτί, αποκαλύπτοντας το λαμπερό δαχτυλίδι.
En: Holding the box, Nikos returned to Elena, bent down, and finally opened the box, revealing the shining ring.
El: «Έλενα, θα με παντρευτείς;
En: "Elena, will you marry me?"
El: » ρώτησε, με αγωνία στη φωνή του.
En: he asked, with anxiety in his voice.
El: Η Έλενα, γεμάτη δάκρυα χαράς, απάντησε, «Ναι, χίλιες φορές ναι!
En: Elena, filled with tears of joy, replied, "Yes, a thousand times yes!"
