Ep: 27 A Discovery of Witches, part 3

Every week on Folklore Friday, Megan Erickson digs into the old stories that have shaped cultures across the globe. This isn't just a retelling of myths and legends; it's an exploration of their roots, examining what these tales of the supernatural and the sacred meant to the people who first told them. The podcast then traces those threads into the present, looking at how folklore is repurposed in our modern entertainment. You'll hear conversations about the history behind the lore, alongside reviews and discussions about contemporary television and film that draw directly from these ancient wells. It's a blend of historical deep-dive and cultural analysis, where the past is always alive in the stories we tell today. Megan is often joined by friends for these chats, making each episode feel like a lively discussion rather than a lecture. Tune in to this history-focused podcast for a fresh perspective on the old whispers that still echo in our movies, shows, and collective imagination.
