How to choose a good travel partner & what to do if they suck

Author: Murissa Maurice May 20, 2024 Duration: 19:30

This is what the entire premise of White Lotus is based on, isn’t it? When vacations go awry? And it is all because of our little quirks thrown in with different cultures, the need to let our hair down, trying new things while being surrounded with other people from different backgrounds. It can make for quite the drama. But we don’t want that drama seeping into real life vacations, do we?

In this episode I talk about my experience with bad travel partners and perhaps, at times, being one myself. Lessons learned and how to overcome while you’re already on the road.

Murissa Maurice hosts Foodie Town Podcast, a series built on conversations with people whose passion for food extends far beyond the kitchen. Each episode sits down with a different foodie who is actively shaping taste and community, whether through a local project, a cultural initiative, or a digital platform. You’ll hear from bakers reviving historic grains in their neighborhoods, fermenters teaching ancient techniques online, and travelers documenting the stories behind street food stalls. These discussions naturally weave through the categories that food touches-society, arts, culture, and place-revealing how what we eat connects us. The podcast offers a genuine look at the drive behind these creators, focusing on the tangible impact of their work. Listening feels like pulling up a chair at a lively table where the talk is as nourishing as the meal. It’s for anyone curious about the people building community around food, one cool idea at a time. Find more from Murissa Maurice and the show through the Foodie Town substack.
