The End of Oak Street

There's a particular kind of conversation about movies that often gets lost between the blockbuster buzz and the pressure to keep up with every new streaming release. Footcandle Films, from The MESH, exists for that conversation. This is a monthly space dedicated to the films that demand a bit more attention-the ones playing at the independent theater, the hidden gems you might have missed, or the older titles that have faded from popular memory but still have so much to say. Each episode centers on a deep, thoughtful review of one such film, pulling apart its craft and its ideas without rush. Alongside that main discussion, the hosts weave in relevant news from the film world and, perhaps most valuably, share personal recommendations meant to rekindle your interest in forgotten favorites or introduce you to something entirely new. The pace is deliberate, the tone is conversational, and the focus is always on the unique light that smaller films can cast. If your film diet feels a little too predictable, this podcast offers a monthly reminder of the richness waiting in the margins.
