Marc Dumas: Accountability in Fraternity and Sorority Chapters

Marc Dumas: Accountability in Fraternity and Sorority Chapters

Author: Dr. Michael Ayalon July 22, 2026 Duration: 54:08

Marc Dumas is finishing up his term as National President of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and 8 years on the Board of Directors. He was a colony and chapter founding father, President of the Greek Council, and the 1st Black President of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.

In episode 691 of the Fraternity Foodie Podcast, we find out what inspired Marc to become a Colony Founding Father rather than joining an established chapter, what were the biggest lessons he learned from building a fraternity culture, what he learned about leading people with very different opinions and priorities as Greek Council President, how his definition of leadership changed from his undergraduate days to now serving 8 years on the Board of Directors for Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, his advice for students from underrepresented backgrounds who may not see themselves in leadership yet, what accountability has to do with brotherhood and sisterhood, what needs to change and what should stay the same about our organizations, and the advice he would give himself as an undergraduate. Enjoy!

Hosted by Dr. Michael Ayalon, the Fraternity Foodie Podcast by Greek University moves beyond surface-level chatter to engage with the complex realities of campus Greek life. This isn't about social calendars or party themes; it's a dedicated space for necessary dialogue, pulling in leading voices and practitioners who work directly within the fraternity and sorority community. The conversations are built on a practical educational framework, aiming to translate expert insight and frontline experience into actionable understanding for listeners. By focusing on these critical topics, the podcast seeks to contribute to stronger, healthier, and more accountable campus cultures.
