1,000 Days of War

1,000 Days of War

Author: Geopolitical Horizons November 25, 2024 Duration: 32:52
On 19 November the Ukraine war passed 1,000 days and the Ukrainian position is looking as precarious as ever. Since the U.S. presidential election, there has been significant speculation about what Donald Trump's victory means for the war in Ukraine. Trump's campaign pledge to end the war quickly, combined with his veiled threats of suspending US financial and military aid for Ukraine to force Kyiv to negotiate with Moscow, have raised questions about whether the conflict could end in 2025. In Just over two months, the Ukraine war will be 3 years old, and it seems now the beginning of the end is upon us.

Trying to make sense of the world's constant shifts requires more than just headlines; it needs context, depth, and a willingness to ask difficult questions. That's the space Geopolitical Horizons occupies. Each episode moves beyond the immediate news cycle to explore the deeper currents shaping our global landscape-the philosophical underpinnings of power, the cultural forces that drive societies, and the historical patterns that quietly repeat themselves. You’ll hear conversations that connect the dots between politics, identity, and human aspiration, offering not just analysis but a framework for personal understanding and growth in an interconnected age. This podcast is built on the idea that true education in current affairs involves examining the why behind the what, fostering a more nuanced perspective that listeners can carry into their own lives and communities. Geopolitical Horizons serves as a guide for those who feel that the standard narratives are insufficient, providing thoughtful commentary that is as concerned with the future of human society as it is with the day's events. It’s an invitation to look further, think deeper, and consider the vast horizon of possibilities that define our shared reality.
