S4E21 – Challenges to Christian Nationalism, Part 4: Questioning Motives

Author: Governed by God June 12, 2024 Duration: 30:29

As we continue this series on Christian Nationalism, I wanted to respond to the next challenge on the list: Aren't we too focused on getting power, and doesn't that make us just like the world? This is an important challenge, and one that we need to take seriously. All things, even good things, can become idols. But civil power, like money, is not a dirty thing that should never be touched. If it were, then Christians should never vote or advocate for democratic societies, since such societies by nature distribute civil power among the voters.

How should a person of faith understand the world of laws, politics, and civic duty? Governed by God explores that very question, offering a thoughtful and scripture-based examination of civil government and our role within it. This isn't about partisan politics, but rather a foundational look at how biblical principles intersect with the structures of human authority. Each episode digs into topics of law and civics, seeking to frame contemporary issues through a timeless lens. The host welcomes engagement, often addressing listener questions directly in the show, which adds a personal and practical dimension to the discussions. If you've ever wondered how your spiritual convictions inform your view of citizenship, justice, or societal order, this podcast provides a space for that exploration. Tune in for conversations that are both intellectually grounded and deeply rooted in Christian thought, challenging you to consider the intersection of divine truth and human governance.
