176: How to Decide You Want to Change with Lil Josiey

Author: Simona Costantini April 11, 2023 Duration: 30:08

In this episode, I sit down with Lil Josiey to talk about his journey from being an unknown artist to catching the attention of the music industry pretty much overnight.

Lil Josiey is a 21 year old independent artist from Amsterdam, NY. When he stepped foot in the music industry, he had been making music daily, with his favorite era of music dating back to 90’s punk, which inspires his songs.

Lil Josiey doesn’t just create music for money. He delights in satisfying his fans with high quality of music they can relate to.

We dive deep into his personal struggles, including becoming addicted to drugs with the girl he fell in love with and losing his best friend to an overdose. Lil Josiey shares how he turned to writing songs to pass the time and stay sober. He also speaks candidly about why drugs are the go-to thing in the entertainment industry and the biggest change he made internally in order to stay sober.

We explore how having faith played a key role in his healing journey and the catalyst that made him want to change his life. Lil Josiey also shares the creation process behind his latest single and why we're so quick to dull our creativity.

We wrap up the episode by discussing what he's up to next and his plans for the future. Whether you're a fan of Lil Josiey or meeting him for the first time, I know there are key nuggets of wisdom in here that will change your perspective.
