Dr. Christopher Cowherd is an educator and school leader who is passionate about innovation, student agency, and self-directed learning. Having worked in New England independent schools, international schools in Barcelona, Beijing, Bangkok, and now as the executive director of learning and innovation at the International Community School of Addis Ababa [Ethiopia], his philosophy centers on creating dynamic, student-centered educational experiences that prepare learners for an unpredictable future. He emphasizes ethical leadership, collaboration, and fostering curiosity in students and educators alike. Dr. Cowherd integrates his love for film, sports, and music into his work while advocating for schools that empower students to co-create their learning.
At Harvard, Chris concentrated in Social Anthropology and lived in Weld and Kirkland House.
