Homeschool: Getting Started~Clubhouse Edition

If you have been listening to the podcast this last year or following Honey! I'm Homeschooling The Kids on social media you may have heard that we have a wonderful homeschooling "club" on the Clubhouse app. The Club is called Honey! I'm Homeschooling and we host a room every Saturday at 9am mountain time, Monday's at 11am mountain time and Tuesday's at 4pm mountain time. Each "room" or meet up focuses on a topic related to homeschooling, unschooling, family life and progressive education.

This episode is the recording of our August 28th room. Liana Francisco and I host the Saturday rooms and this recording is Homeschool: Getting Started. We start with the the steps to getting started on your homeschool journey.

  • Filing the paperwork
  • How to find the information or documentation for the area you live
  • Legalities
  • Goals, Purpose and Values
  • Finding community

We share our personal experiences, open up for Q&A and support each other through the process. Please note- there are many that chose to just listen in the room. If you are new to the app and would love to be part of the discussion, you have the choice to just listen or join the conversation.

Robyn Robertson hosts Honey! I'm Homeschooling The Kids, a conversation that goes far beyond curriculum choices and into the heart of what it means to learn and grow together as a family. This isn't about presenting a perfect blueprint; instead, each episode feels like an honest chat with a friend who gets it, exploring the nuanced realities of choosing an educational path outside the conventional system. You'll hear from a diverse range of voices-experienced homeschoolers, unschooling advocates, educational researchers, and parents just figuring it out-all sharing their stories, challenges, and triumphs. The discussions naturally weave through parenting philosophies, cultural perspectives on childhood, and practical advice for nurturing a rich, engaging home life. Tuning into this podcast means finding a supportive community and thoughtful reflections on creating a family culture that prioritizes connection, curiosity, and joy. It’s for anyone curious about alternative education or simply seeking inspiration for a more intentional and fulfilling life with their kids.
