Two recent Mary Immaculate College graduates, Tomás Fitzpatrick and Oisín Flynn, have made waves with their startup, ChessIreland. They won the Best Overall award at the Startup Atlas competition and have been delivering structured chess lessons to primary school kids across Ireland, fostering skills like focus and problem-solving. With over forty schools and ten community clubs, theyve reached five thousand pupils and recently launched the largest online chess event in Ireland, Chess four Schools Live, with around one thousand kids participating weekly.
