Independent Ireland and Aontú Eye Alliance | Ireland News

Independent Ireland and Aontú are eyeing a potential alliance for the next general election, aiming to boost vote transfers and capitalize on their shared rural and farming priorities—especially after Independent Ireland’s recent byelection loss. While both leaders express openness to collaboration, Independent Ireland’s Ken O’Flynn remains cautious, willing to accept Aontú’s second-preference votes but skeptical of left-wing unity efforts. With polls showing strong momentum, this could reshape Ireland’s political landscape—potentially rivaling Fianna Fáil—though behind-the-scenes strategy is still unfolding.
