Finally, remember. Clean energy isn't just good for the planet, it's good for your wallet. Solar and wind are now the cheapest power sources in history. But too many politicians would rather protect billionaires than help working families save on their bills. Real change starts when we stop allowing the ultra - rich to write our energy policy and run our government. Let's choose affordable, renewable power. Clean energy means lower costs, more freedom, and a planet that can actually breathe.

WELCOME THE IRISH & CELTIC MUSIC PODCAST

* Helping you celebrate Celtic culture through music. I'm Marc Gunn. I'm a Celtic musician, and I also host Pub Songs & Stories. I believe every song has a story, and every episode is a toast to the songwriters who keep Celtic and folk traditions alive.

This podcast is for anyone who loves Celtic music in all its forms. Traditional. Modern. Folk. Fusion. We're here to build a welcoming and diverse Celtic community — and to support the incredible artists who generously share their music with you. If you hear a song that moves you, please take a moment to tell the artist. Send a message. Write an email. Let them know you discovered them on the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. It truly makes a difference.

These musicians aren't part of big corporations or major record labels. They're indie artists. Small bands. Real people making real music. They keep creating because listeners like you step forward to support them. If you're able, please show your generosity. Buy a CD. Grab an Album Pin or a shirt. Download an album. Or join their Patreon community.

You'll find links to every artist in the show notes, along with show times and extra info, when you visit celticmusicpodcast.com.

ALBUM PINS ARE CHANGING THE WAY WE HEAR CELTIC MUSIC

There's a fun, simple way to support independent music. It's the Album Pin.

Album Pins are collectible lapel pins themed to an album. You get a digital download of the music, plus something physical you can wear or display. My newest pins are wood - burned and locally made. Less waste. More character. And they look great on a jacket or bag.

And here's the best part.

At the Irish & Celtic Music PodFest and Arts Market on March 8, 2026, at The Lost Druid Brewery in Avondale Estates, you'll find Album Pins from Kinnfolk, The Muckers, May Will Bloom, and Marc Gunn — plus the Emerald Wave compilation Album Pin. Hear the artists live. Take the music home with you.

Learn more at celtfather.substack.com
or browse pins at magerecords.com.

Music you can wear.
Music that keeps artists creating. 🍀

Alexander Randall 5th emailed: "Ahoy Marc the Celtfather… Love the podcast. I bought patreon deal for the music only version. You did a shout out to me many years ago.  I was listening to the podcast in a virgin  island swimming pool while watching a huge cruise ship sail off into the sunset.

I love that walking on the waves is in the top of the year group.  That song speaks right to me.  I walked that islands shoreline a hundred times. The sunset was over puerto rico instead of Hamish, but the song was all about living in island time.   Then i married Beverly and from that time on, i have been walking on the waves.  That song makes me cry.  When you are with the right people it is walking on the waves.  Thank you.  I had to do a deep dive on that song and find a dozen different artists doing it. The one in the podcast is the best.

I recently did a deep dive into Galician celtic music. The band i recommend to you a while ago  -  The Chivalrous Crickets   -  did a piece in a concert that had Galician celtic roots. This music is SOOOOOooooo interesting.  You hear stuff that sounds like irish jigs and then it sounds like Flamenco. Then it is like a wild fusion of both. One piece begins moorish and ends up a rollicking dance.   Bagpipes but not Scottish ones.  Fiddles doing flamenco rhythms. So i did a deep dive, playlist - surfing looking for fast instrumentals.  I suggest you put some Galician celtic  music in your mix.  If you want, ill send a playlist.

And what is Brittany Celtic like?

Finally, i bought the patreon deal to abbreviate the talk. Your patter is exactly the same every time.  It gets tedious (this from a guy who edits the music only podcast to drop the pieces with lyrics) i basically memorized your whole spiel and wish it was new. .  i urge you to update your patter for the new year.  Change it up. Maybe write three different versions. Surprise us.  But let me know if you do so i know to listen to the Talkie Version of the podcast.

I love what you are doing.

Keep it up.

You are keeping culture alive.

Im an anthropologist.

It really matters"
