In the UK knife crime has increased by 80 percent in the last ten years. Teenagers are more than twice as likely to be fatally stabbed than they were a decade ago.


Some 82 percent of murders involving teenagers are knife crimes, double the figure for murder victims of all ages.


Overall knife crime has risen 4 percent since Starmer's Labour government took power, although it remains below the peak it reached before the Covid pandemic.
