The holiday that changed our life (Behind the scenes episode)

The holiday that changed our life (Behind the scenes episode)

Author: Liz Deacle and Brian Deacle January 21, 2025 Duration: 40:48

Last month, I boldly said I wanted this family holiday to Canada to "fix" me.

Fix was the wrong word. You can't fix grief. But what you can do is decide how you want to move forward with your life after such a massive loss.

This episode is for you if you feel stuck, sad, helpless, desperate, scared of never being the person you once knew or all of the above.

Our hope is this behind-the-scenes episode will bring you peace, hope, comfort and inspiration if you happen to be in the same dark place I was in before we left for this trip.

Kia Kaha. Stay strong.
Our hearts beat with yours - always.

With love,

Liz and Brian xx

BEHIND THE DRAMA is a fabulous member-only podcast where Brian and I give you bonus content and take you deeper into the more personal stories about life as a married, entrepreneurial couple.

A couple who juggle travel, family, business, mental health and marriage.

A couple who have two adult kids that still live at home.

But that's okay.

Honest.

If you are someone who dreams of throwing conventional life into the air and swapping it for optimism, yes-ness, adventure, and a ton of much-needed knicker-wetting humour, then this is the podcast for you -

It is real, it is honest, it is tough, and it is JUST what you need.

You might think from the title It's a Drama Podcast that you're in for some heavy theatrics, but it's actually the opposite. Hosted by world traveller and best-selling comedy author Liz Deacle alongside her husband Brian, this is a space for the gloriously unfiltered and often hilarious conversations that happen between two people sharing a life and a suitcase. Each episode feels like pulling up a chair at their kitchen table, where the topics roam freely from travel mishaps and cultural observations to the everyday dramas of family, food, and navigating the second half of life with a sense of humor. Liz and Brian’s candid dynamic is the heart of the podcast, offering a blend of laughter and genuine honesty that makes the personal feel universal. You’ll find yourself in the middle of stories that are both frank and funny, often accompanied by the clink of a wine glass and the admission that adulthood isn't always a dignified affair. It’s less about destination and more about the messy, joyful, and relatable journey, making this a uniquely comforting listen for anyone who appreciates real conversation served with a generous side of comedy.
