Ep. 86- Chinese Jack the Ripper

You might think you've heard every major true crime story out there, but there's a whole other layer of narratives that rarely get the spotlight. That's where It's About Damn Crime comes in, hosted by Brittney and Justine. This podcast deliberately shifts the focus to cases involving people of color, stories that are too often overlooked by mainstream coverage. Their conversations feel like sitting down with two friends who are equally frustrated by the gaps in true crime media and deeply committed to bringing these important accounts to light. Each episode digs into a specific case, weaving discussion with analysis that sits at the intersection of society, culture, and the true crime genre itself. Given their lens on film and TV reviews, Brittney and Justine also bring a sharp eye for how these stories are portrayed-or more often, not portrayed-in popular media. Listening means hearing cases that are likely unfamiliar, presented with a blend of empathy, research, and candid commentary. It’s a necessary correction to the typical true crime playlist, offering depth and perspective that challenge the standard formula. If your true crime rotation feels repetitive, this podcast provides a vital, engaging alternative.
