Author: The Two Lauras January 23, 2024 Duration: 41:05

So many things in life can be much harder to navigate as a freelancer compared to being employed, and none more so than when you are confronted with a medical diagnosis. That’s what happened to today’s podcast guest, Allison Christie, when, with no prior symptoms or warning, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her whole business was thrown up in the air as she considered how to move forward, what needed to go, what could stay, and how she could keep as much income as possible while reducing her hours to allow her to go through treatment. Now she’s out the other side, she’s kindly come on our podcast to chat to us all about her experience and how she managed to make the necessary changes to keep her business running through this difficult time.

Our guest, Allison is a Meta Ads Manager who heads up a small agile team of freelancers/subcontractors and they are all about helping health and wellness businesses thrive with results-driven marketing. This episode is sure to make you consider whether your business is serving you as it should be, and whether you need to shake up any of your service offerings, like Allison had to with her dreaded power hours! (Spoiler alert: she now loves them!).

In this episode, we’re chatting about:

  • The impact of a cancer diagnosis on your business
  • What to expect when opening up to your clients about your situation
  • Re-evaluating your business after your diagnosis
  • Supporting others who are going through a life-changing medical experience
