The Mysterious Star HD 139139 with Dr. Andrew Vanderburg

Author: John Michael Godier December 1, 2025 Duration: 30:36

28 random dips of light were observed by the Kepler space telescope of the star HD 139139. The random transiting nature of the objects and the light curves were studied by a team that was lead by Dr. Saul Rappaport and Dr. Andrew Vanderburg. This bizarre star so far stands out from the Kepler mission. One explanation includes rapid sunspots. Possible SETI implications include an alien civilization creating an unnatural looking orbits to signal to others that they exist. John Michael Godier spoke to Dr. Andrew Vanderburg about HD 139139.Links"The Random Transiter -- EPIC 249706694/HD 139139", S.
