Flanagan's Wake #1 - ABSENTIA

There’s a unique kind of magic in revisiting a beloved story through fresh eyes, and that’s the experience at the heart of Kingslingers | A Dark Tower Podcast. From Doof! Media, this series is a deep-dive analysis of Stephen King’s sprawling, genre-bending Dark Tower saga. What makes it compelling isn’t just the literary examination, but the dynamic between the hosts: Scott, a seasoned "Constant Reader" who knows this world intimately, serves as guide for Matt, who is encountering Roland Deschain’s quest for the first time. Their weekly conversations unpack the dense mythology, characters, and connections to King’s wider universe, blending insightful commentary with the genuine reactions of a newcomer. You’ll hear chapters broken down in detail, with Scott providing context and foreshadowing while Matt puzzles through the twists and moral complexities of Mid-World. It’s like being part of a thoughtful, often humorous book club dedicated solely to this epic journey. Whether you’re a lifelong Tower junkie or just curious about the series that ties so much of King’s work together, this podcast offers a rich, chapter-by-chapter companion to one of fiction’s most ambitious tales. The journey to the Dark Tower-and all the strange detours along the way-feels new again through these discussions.
