  • Amy Purling talked about how important plasma donation is and the difference it makes to 6 year old Jack's life. Jack is living with  Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID), 
  • Damian Papps, Executive Director for See Differently, wrapped up Tech Fest and International World Sight Day. Damien also previewed International White Cane Day, and the news about new facilities for the eye clinic at Flinders.  
  • Monique Power is the Founder for Ripple Ability - a new WA initiative providing first of its kind support for children with profound disabilities and the parent carers that support. 
  • Chelsea Marchetti, physiotherapist from the Flipper Academy, spoke about what other supports a physiotherapist can provide, such as the correct use of crutches, wheelchairs and other physical assistance.  
  • Rebecca Stonor, CEO for Doctors for Nutrition, invited all to a Symposium with practical information about nutrition and lifestyle.  This is being  held in Adelaide 8th and 9th November.  
  • Emily Pumpa, Senior Manager for Clinical Services at Resthaven, shared thoughts and examples about palliative care, its importance and how to be proactive with action you can take now, 
  • Jane Britt, Senior Consultant and Advisor at The Social Deck, updated us on the review of the Disability Discrimination Act and also invited feedback in to education standards review which have just opened.
