WORLD RENOWNED BUDWEISER CLYDESDALES TOAPPEAR AT THE BRICKYARD IN MANSFIELD, THE WAYNE COUNTY FAIR, THE BELLVILLE STREET FAIR, AND THE ASHLAND COUNTY FAIR

MANSFIELD, BELLVILLE, WOOSTER AND ASHLAND, OHIO, SEPT. 10TH – SEPT. 14TH

 – The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales, the symbol of quality and tradition for Anheuser-Busch since 1933, are scheduled to make several appearances in our area between September. 10th and September 14th, including a single horse appearance at The Brickyard in Mansfield and full hitch appearances at the Bellville Street Fair and the Wayne and Ashland County Fairs where there will also be check presentations to the Folds of Honor Foundation that has supported families of our fallen and wounded military personnel since 2007.

Mansfield Distributing, your locally owned and operated Anheuser-Busch distributor, is proud and excited to present the eight-horse Clydesdale team that will be harnessed and hitched to the iconic red beer wagon at the Wayne County Fair on September 11th, from 4pm to 6pm, the Bellville Street Fair on September, 12th from 4pm to 6pm, and the Ashland Country Fair on September, 14th from 3pm to 5pm. There will also be an opportunity for pictures with a single horse at The Brickyard in Mansfield on September, 10th from 5pm to 7pm.

The Clydesdales’ appearances in our area are just a few of the hundreds made annually by the traveling hitches. Canadians of Scottish descent brought the first Clydesdales to America in the mid-1800’s. Today, the giant draft horses are used primarily for breeding and show.

Horses chosen for the Budweiser Clydesdale hitch must be at least three years of age, stand approximately 18 hands – or six feet – at the shoulder, weigh an average of 2,000 pounds, must be bay in color, have four white legs, and a blaze of white on the face and black mane and tail. A gentle temperament is very important as hitch horses meet millions of people each year.

A single Clydesdale hitch horse will consume as much as 20-25 quarts of feed, 40-50 pounds of hay and 30 gallons of water per day.

Each hitch travels with a Dalmatian. In the early days of brewing, Dalmatians were bred and trained to protect the horses and guard the wagon when the driver went inside to make deliveries.

The Budweiser Clydesdales can be viewed at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery and Grant’s Farm in St. Louis, MO. They also may be viewed at Warm Springs Ranch, the 300-plus acre Clydesdale breeding farm located near Boonville, MO.

Aaron Hines has a simple belief: the most compelling stories aren't found on a global stage, but right outside your front door. In Local Talk with Aaron Hines, he turns that belief into conversation, exploring the unique texture of community life that often goes unnoticed. This isn't about headlines or viral moments; it's about the people, traditions, and quiet dramas that define a place. Each episode feels like pulling up a chair at a familiar diner or lingering on a park bench, where the discussion flows from the challenges facing a neighborhood bookstore to the history behind a beloved annual festival, or the unexpected ways a city's character shifts from one block to the next. You'll hear from longtime residents, local artists, small business owners, and civic volunteers-voices that collectively map the soul of a community. The podcast thrives on genuine curiosity, offering a slow, thoughtful listen that complicates our idea of "local" and celebrates the specific details that make somewhere feel like home. It’s for anyone who wants to listen more closely to the world immediately around them, discovering the extraordinary narratives woven into the ordinary fabric of daily life.
