June 2023, a Belgian tourist living in Tasmania for 6 months planned to take in the local nature scene by hiking the Philosopher Falls Walking Trail. It's an easy, well-marked trail that should only take 50, so she packed light. When family and friends could not reach her, they notified local authorities to report her missing.
