29. Thin Lizzy  'Toughest Band In Town' In 1969, Thin Lizzy began. Formed from renowned Dublin musicians: Eric Bell, Eric Wrixon, Brian Downey and Phil Lynott - this group would go on to become one of the biggest and best Rock bands to come out of Ireland! Their legacy would go on to inspire and shape the ever-changing characteristics of Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and Classic Rock, but their own influences came from a wide variety of styles & genres, including: Irish, Funk, Blues, Folk, Disco, American R&B, Motown and early Heavy Metal. With Lynott's sweet, melodic vocals and aggressive bass playing, Downey's pounding drums, the signature duelling guitars of Robertson, Gorham and Moore and the ever present musical homage to their Irish background - Thin Lizzy became a household name. But dig further down, beneath the surface, and you soon discover the consistency, quality and stylistic variety of this band that proves their worth and cements their label as Rock 'N' Roll legends!
