Have you ever noticed how when you're trying to change something about yourself, you often swing from one extreme to the other before finding balance? This fascinating pattern is what I call "the pendulum effect" in coaching. Just like a physical pendulum that swings back and forth before settling in the middle, our behaviors and beliefs often follow this same trajectory when we're working on personal growth.

 

The beauty of understanding this pendulum effect is that it helps normalize what can otherwise feel like an uncomfortable or even alarming process. Today, I'm sharing how to recognize this pattern in yourself and your clients, why it happens naturally, and how you can intentionally use this concept to create powerful transformations.
