Barefoot with Sole...Strong feet for a Strong Body

Author: Jodelle Fitzwater April 3, 2021 Duration: 47:55
So anyone that knows me knows I’m barefoot most of the time and outdoors most of the time. Therefore I feel it is only appropriate to do a podcast outside on the ground in my barefeet! Since I am outside, I apologize for any barking background noise or construction or cars. You get the real world behind me today, so "bare" with me….. Periodically I like to feature products I myself use and love. And I’m so excited to talk about this product I have been wearing now for about 5 years. As a professional stand up paddle athlete, an hiker, a runner from time to time for fun, and someone who hates shoes (you will usually see me barefoot), I am in love with a pair of running sandals called Paleo Shoes. I’m on my 4th pair and had to bring out the founder, Robert Szekeresh aka “Ultra Bob “, founder and CEO of Paleo Shoes, as well as author, ultra-marathon runner, and barefoot enthusiast with about 9000 miles under his belt and Ive invited him to talk to us all about the benefits of minimalistic sandals and training our feet to serve us our whole lives. Your feet are your foundation, so use them or lose them to atrophy, orthodics, and foot issues requiring surgery such as hammer toes. Jodelle Fitzwater brings over two decades of professional experience to the conversations on Meat Body & Soul, weaving together her dual expertise as a Functional Nutrition Therapy Practitioner and an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer. This isn't just another health podcast; it's a grounded exploration of how practical nutrition and thoughtful movement form the foundation of genuine well-being. Each episode feels like a deep, personal consultation, where Jodelle translates complex physiological concepts into actionable steps for everyday life. You'll hear discussions that go beyond diet trends and workout fads, focusing instead on sustainable habits that nourish you from the inside out. The dialogue often centers on how what we eat functionally supports our physical goals and mental clarity, and how fitness can be adapted to honor the body's current needs rather than punishing it. Tuning into this podcast means accessing a holistic perspective where the "meat" of our physical form is respectfully connected to our broader sense of self. Jodelle’s approach is both educational and deeply personal, making each session feel like a supportive guide for anyone looking to improve their health without the noise of the latest wellness craze. It’s a resource for those ready to invest in a long-term relationship with their own body and soul, through evidence-based advice and compassionate insight.
