by
Mark Twain

Dowley the Blacksmith and the other guests attack Hank and Arthur for insulting them. The men are able to escape and hide from the mob in a tree.

The slaves, including Hank and Arthur are marched back to London. Arthur is upset he was only worth $7.

In London Hank comes up with a plan to escape and lead all the slaves back to Camelot. During his escape he and he slave master get into a fight and both are captured. Hank is tried and spins a story about helping Earl Grip when he was attacked. The judge believes him and sets him free.

When Hank returns to the slave quarters the slave master is dead, beaten by the slaves. The guard tells Hank one slave is missing and once they find him the slaves will be executed.

Hank puts on a disguise, goes to the telegraph office and sends Clarence a coded message to send Lancelot and 500 knights to save him and Arthur.

Hank is spotted by a search party and detained. The officer tells him they will be executed that afternoon.

Medieval Tales Podcast is a Medieval Archives & Dragon Moon Media production.

Curated by The Archivist, Medieval Tales is a weekly escape into the rich narrative tapestries of the Middle Ages. Each episode is a deep, immersive reading and discussion of a single literary work, from the heroic romances of Chrétien de Troyes to the earthy humor of Chaucer’s Canterbury pilgrims. We don't just recite stories; we unpack the context, language, and enduring human themes within them, letting the original texts speak for themselves. You'll hear the clash of swords in epic battles, the whispered intrigues of courtly love, and the quiet wisdom of parables, all presented with careful attention to the source material. This podcast lives in the intersection of Fiction, Arts, and Books, designed for anyone who finds resonance in these foundational tales. It’s for the listener who wants to be transported, not merely entertained, to understand the fears, aspirations, and complex social codes of a distant world that still echoes in our own. So find a comfortable chair, perhaps with a warm drink in hand, and let the journey begin. New episodes of this audio chronicle are released regularly, offering a sustained and thoughtful exploration of medieval literature in all its forms.
