Regret & Living In The Past

Regret & Living In The Past

Author: Nabeel Shamji May 27, 2021 Duration: 11:58

Episode 9 ! Thank-you all for your love and support with the podcast, together we are helping not only to raise awareness, but also helping to remove the negative stigma associated with mental health. This is the last week for Mental Health Awareness month, by supporting one another, and spreading the word, the importance of mental health and dealing with its struggles will receive a bigger focus in our society. This weeks episode is a short solo episode where i dive into the topic of regret & living in the past. All throughout my mental health journey, it has been very prevalent and i wanted to share my stories and insights to help those of you who also deal with it. The last couple of weeks have been quite rough for me mentally, and this was caused by a variety of things which i mention in the episode. I got into that cycle of regret and living in the past, which has not been at all good for my overall mental health. The past is a time that no longer exists and beating ourselves up for the "bone-head" mistakes and decisions we made serves us no purpose other than wasting the time we have here in the present. Life is an experience, regardless of what we encounter, we have to be thankful for those experiences, and allow ourselves to grow & learn from them. Thank-you once again for listening, please share the episode and show with anyone you can, and remember, mental health > everything else !

Nabeel Shamji hosts Mental Health > Everything Else, a weekly space dedicated to the conversations we too often avoid. Each episode is built on a simple, vital idea: our well-being must come before other demands, a principle that’s easy to agree with yet difficult to practice. Through personal stories and thoughtful discussions on specific struggles, this podcast moves beyond theory into the real, often messy terrain of emotional life. A key focus is challenging the stigma that prevents many, particularly men, from seeking understanding or support, aiming to replace silence with shared dialogue. Tuning in, you’ll find a direct and honest approach to topics that matter, emphasizing that prioritizing mental health isn’t a sign of weakness but a necessary act of self-respect. The overall tone is one of grounded conversation, offering perspective and solidarity for anyone who has ever felt alone in their challenges. This is a Canadian-produced podcast rooted in the belief that when we talk openly about these issues, we make it easier for everyone to put their mental health first.
