Hotline Feature – Advocacy in Action from Huntington Bank: Hope's Point Baptist Church

Dave Weekley launches Huntington Bank's new recurring segment, Advocacy in Action, with Chad Prather of Huntington Bank and Pastor Dan Vaughn of Hope's Point Baptist Church in Weston. With Lewis County still reeling from devastating flooding, Pastor Vaughn describes the shift from emergency cleanup to long-term rebuilding — 24 families still in hotel rooms, 47 to 48 homes completely destroyed, and a community that was already in a housing crisis before the disaster. The church is serving 100 to 150 hot meals daily and coordinating construction supply donations through partnerships with local hardware stores and Lowe's, accepting Lowe's gift cards and direct donations at hopespoint.org. Vaughn also emphasizes the growing need for fresh volunteers as the initial wave of helpers has returned to their regular lives and recovery fatigue sets in. Hope's Point distribution center, at 322 Main Avenue in Weston, is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
