Enjoying Your Business with Susie Carder

Enjoying Your Business with Susie Carder

Author: Leisa Peterson March 22, 2022 Duration: 48:22

Today, I have my friend, Susie Carder, on the show and she has had quite a history that she's sharing. She ran Lisa Nichols' business for several years then went out on her own. I think she said in 2015, she had several businesses over the years. She is a phenomenal business builder that really knows the strategy on how it takes to have more profit in your company; how to grow exponentially. But we're getting into, not just that part, but the parts that I'd like to talk about which is the feelings inside of our experiences as business-owners and what can we learn about ourselves when it comes to taking time out for us, for rest, for relaxation, and for play. Susie gets open and vulnerable about her experiences as a long-time business owner and how she had to find her way to giving herself permission to rest and relax and have more fun in life. Enjoy.

Susie shares with us his insights:

  • And I'm like where's my people? Right, can be very isolating. So you have to get surround yourself with people who think like you. People who are playing 10 steps ahead of you. That's why masterminds are great. That's why coaching is great, because if you're around people that are playing 10 steps ahead of you, one dinner conversation, you know this, from years of doing it, one conversation can blow open like - 'Oh my God!' It's that little tick that we're working on our business. It's not one thing we do. Remember those combinations we used in when you're in high school, like your locker or you're at the gym, you know. And it's a combination one little tick off and that sucker wouldn't open, right? And that's business. One little take you can have everything right.

  • But it's planned, right? And then I can go, 'Oh, look at me I have time...' I have time to hike. I have time to kayak. I have time to breathe. I have time to be a mom. So it's all in the schedule, but your tribe is definitely the most important - is finding those people that you can be real. And you don't have to have that mask on that you're perfect. Because as coaches-business owners, we always have that mask of 'I'm perfect; I have all the answers.' Well, I have a lot of answers but there's a lot I don't know so who do I need to talk to that might know more than I know.

  • Is this what I'm supposed to be doing? I know, and I know everyone out there feels like you have a purpose or you want to find that purpose. And so I think, I got so much in the drive and the masculine energy that I forgot me, Susie. And so, when I sold my company, I was lost, like I didn't know who Susie, the woman, was anymore. Because I was this icon, this figure, this pillar, this leader, this thing that I created and then the minute that's gone I'm like well who am I now, right? I didn't know who I was and so again cosmic boot right again, I sold the business, all of a sudden, then the market crashed. And so, when the market crashed, I crashed. I lost my marriage of 17 years. Again, the cosmic boot of the rug being pulled out from under you like, who are you now. Because you can't be your accolades. I can't be my awards. I can't be my bank account. I can't be. I'm a woman. I'm a mother. I'm a sister. I'm a friend. I'm a lover right. I had to really redefine who is Susie...

Susie Carder started out as a low paid hairdresser trying to support her 2 little girls. But working for someone else became a challenge (to say the least). So she decided to do whatever it took to create her own business. After much blood sweat and tears (mixed with cheap mascara) she went on to create, not one, but two $10 Million companies!

Her core genius is the ability to simplify complicated issues by creating simple proven systems that are guaranteed to create dramatic growth for any company. She has helped over 100,000 entrepreneurs increase their revenues by more than 3000% and worked with top business moguls including John Assaraf, Lisa Nichols, Steve Harvey, Doug Carter, and Paul Mitchell.
