A year ago today, March 3, Robert Cardinal Prevost, head of the Dicastery for Bishops, led the eighth night of prayer for Pope Francis as he suffered from bilateral pneumonia in the hospital. All anyone really knew was that he was from Chicago, had served as a Bishop in Peru, led the Augustines for a dozen years, and had recently been promoted to the rank of Cardinal Bishop.

66 days later, he'd be elected the 267th Pope.
