Born 300 years apart, on opposite sides of the world, Angela Merici and Elizabeth Ann Seton both experienced great heartbreak early in life. Their sadness and struggle in abandonment and loss was an impetus for them both to ensure young girls would never be ignored, uneducated, or forgotten again, and in Italy and Baltimore, they both founded Catholic schools that would change the face of Catholic education forever.
