081 - Bjorn Niclas (Music Streaming on the Blockchain)

Author: Grahame Farmer October 26, 2020 Duration: 1:03:13

Bjorn Niclas is a seasoned music and music-tech industry veteran with over fifteen years in the music space. His previous ventures include artist and tour management, a record label (Spundae black), and several music-tech start-ups, Vidiam, Grooveo, and Choon. Earlier this year, Bjorn co-founded ROCKI, the world's first hybrid user-centric blockchain-based music streaming ecosystem, aiming to solve some of the music industry's most fundamental problems. Simply put, to put more money in the hands of the 99% of artists not benefiting from the unfair streaming model created to cater to the 1% (who takes 90% of the streaming revenue). "I build things and empower people for positive change. Positivity always wins in my book. A firm believer in Pay it Forward" - Bjorn Niclas

A brand new user-centric blockchain music streaming platform aimed at independent artists and their fans has launched, called ROCKI. On ROCKI, artists are compensated for their streams, both in fiat currency and our unique ROCKS token, a world first.

Owner Bjorn Niclas says “We’ve been working with many artists who used our previous services — Vidiam, Grooveo and Choon — to create a platform that allows them to connect directly with their fans. Many of them have already committed to ROCKI and will be credited in ROCKS when joining the new platform. In addition, we will be announcing the details of our public Beta launch and an upcoming token swap on Bounce.Finance soon. Stay tuned for that, and for your roadmap to the future of music streaming and fan participation. Because given our current state of affairs, we either keep up with the times — or get left behind. It’s about time the traditional industry model changed. Let’s give more to those who actually put in the work.”

Today, on the BOOST Podcast I chat to Bjorn about Rocki, Blockchain, Streaming, Spotify and much more.  Find out more about ROCKI and how you can get involved, visit: www.ROCKI.app
