Palantir - The Eye of Sauron

Palantir - The Eye of Sauron

Author: Myth of the 20th Century - "Only the truth is banned." April 28, 2026 Duration: 2:26:43

In the words of Alex Karp, long standing CEO of Palantir Technologies, “the atomic age is ending, and a new era of deterrence built on A.I. is set to begin.” Subject of a new biography ‘The Philosopher in the Valley’ and his own book ‘The Technological Republic’, Alex Karp lays out his vision of defending America with technological hard power, a recognition that our enemies are real and must be deterred through superior capability, and realigning our culture around national pride and loyalty to the republic. Controversial amongst a wide range of Americans from progressive liberals on the left and dissident thinkers on the right, Palantir has nonetheless played a growing role in identifying potential threats to the American order from battlefields in Ukraine to conflict in the Middle East. Many see the type of data analysis, simulation and prediction tools Palantir specializes in as essential for the coming wars with near-peer adversaries like China as cyber and drone engagements take the place of more conventional conflicts, but others fear the abuse of such systems against the populations of American and allied citizens. From the perspective of this show and our guest Lance from Lance’s Legion, we generally believe that the peril does not necessarily lie in the new technologies themselves, but rather the people entrusted to wield them if they do not sufficiently share the bond of blood, faith, and/or loyalty to an ideal that our nation was built upon.

Myth of the 20th Century is a show that digs into the stories we think we know and examines the forces that shaped them. Guided by the principle "Only the truth is banned," this podcast peels back the layers of official narratives, exploring the intersections of history, current events, and power. Each episode is a deep dive into the foundational myths-political, social, and cultural-that define our modern world, particularly those emanating from and surrounding the American experience. The analysis is grounded in a belief that what is often presented as settled history is anything but, and that contemporary headlines cannot be fully understood without this crucial context. You'll hear detailed explorations of pivotal events, ideological movements, and the figures who championed or challenged them, all framed by a critical perspective that questions mainstream consensus. This isn't a recitation of dates and names, but a connective investigation into how the past actively informs the present. For those who find standard historical accounts lacking or suspect that news cycles are missing crucial depth, this podcast offers a different lens. It’s for listeners who want their history and politics presented without the usual filters, where the focus is on the underlying patterns and enduring consequences of twentieth-century dogma and ambition. Tune in for a challenging and consistently detailed audit of the century that made us, asking persistently whether the sun truly never sets on the American empire or if that itself is the most potent myth of all.
