N-E-X-T-W-O-R-L-D by Gerry B. Hectic

Dive into the eclectic and unpredictable sonic world of N-E-X-T-W-O-R-L-D by Gerry B. Hectic. This podcast operates as a curated audio journey, where each episode feels like a personal mixtape from a friend with impeccably wide-ranging taste. You'll hear a carefully sequenced flow of tracks that span decades and genres, from the raw post-punk energy of The Fall's 1977 single 'Bingo-Masters Break-Out!' to the experimental rock of Pere Ubu's 1975 recording 'Data Panik In The Year Zero'. The selections often carry a thematic or personal thread, as seen in a volume inspired by the legendary DJ John Peel, featuring everything from a live David Byrne intro to underground hip-hop collaborations like Verb T & The Last Skeptick. Gerry B. Hectic's own instrumental compositions, such as 'Never Wanted To Be Here Anyway', are woven into the fabric alongside these discoveries. Listening to this podcast is an exercise in musical connection, where a 2007 track can sit perfectly beside a 1975 cut, revealing the timeless threads that run through innovative sound. It’s less a traditional show and more an ongoing archive of influences and curiosities, presented without commentary for you to get lost in. Expect the unexpected, and let the sequencing tell its own story.
