A very different subject for NCF, but one which has become politically relevant and topical. UFOs, once a fringe subject, have become a mainstream topic in the USA ever since a 2017 article in the New York Times revealed the existence of a UFO investigation programme in the Pentagon and released footage from a naval cockpit of an encounter with a UFO. Since then we've seen Congressional hearings, government department and federal agency briefings and testimonies and we've had no fewer than two presidents involve themselves in the subject: President Obama cryptically said "Aliens are Real" and President Trump has ordered federal agencies to declassify and release all documents on UFOs. Our guest today is Mark Christopher Lee, a well-known UFO expert who has devoted much of his life to the subject. He is an author, filmmaker, investigator and researcher on some of the most important UFO cases. Mark went viral in February of this year when he posted on X and wrote an article for the Daily Mail stating that a trusted Washington insider source with impeccable credentials had told him that President Trump would deliver a speech on 8 July stating that the US government held technology created by non-humans. Suddenly the issue of UFOs has become politically relevant.
