Season 8 Episode 4: I'm Giving You Permission to Take Your Time

Season 8 Episode 4: I'm Giving You Permission to Take Your Time

Author: Lisa Kuzman October 6, 2022 Duration: 18:47

I was really excited about 2022.

If you've been listening to the show for a while, you already know that. I went into this year with so many amazing plans for celebrating both myself and an incredible year.

But I'm going to say it: this has been probably the most challenging year I've had in the last decade. And considering that we've had multiple years of our lives being disrupted, now, I know I'm not the only one feeling this way.

If you're in it right now — whatever your it is — you might also be grappling with the feeling that you need to resolve it already. When there's a lot of unknowns, when there's trust required, when there are elements outside of our control, when we're still in it... that's a challenging place to be. And forcing ourselves to process and resolve won't get us out of that place even one second faster.

So today, I'm giving you permission to let your processing take as long as it takes.

There's a quiet shift happening in how we think about authority and influence, and New Wave Leadership Podcast is right at the heart of it. Host Lisa Kuzman believes traditional, top-down leadership models have run their course, proving ineffective for today's complex world. Instead, this movement champions a much broader, more inclusive vision. Each episode digs into the real, often unspoken challenges that come with stepping into a role of influence, whether you're in a corner office, a community group, or simply leading your own life. The conversations here actively work to expand our definition of who gets to be a leader, arguing passionately for the necessity of diverse identities, perspectives, and lived experiences at the helm. You'll hear frank discussions about authenticity, the personal hurdles leaders navigate behind closed doors, and practical ideas for cultivating your own unique leadership identity without conforming to outdated standards. Tuning into this podcast feels like joining a necessary dialogue-one that moves beyond theory to explore what it genuinely means to show up and make an impact on your own terms.
