Hornets’ Future Hangs on Diabate | New York Knicks News

The Charlotte Hornets are heating up for their 2026-27 season with high expectations after a solid 44-38 record last year—but big changes have already shaken the roster. They shipped out LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges, leaving fans wondering if more moves are coming. Now, center Moussa Diabate—whose strong play (73 games, 8 PPG, 9 RPG, 63% FG) and young age (24) make him valuable—is rumored to be on the trade block, with the Knicks showing interest. Currently penciled as backup behind Steinbach, Diabate could be a future cornerstone—or a draft asset. The season kicks off Oct. 21 vs. Brooklyn, then returns home Oct. 23 against Atlanta. With all this buzz, the Hornets’ ceiling feels higher than ever—and Diabate’s fate could be the next big story.
