French President Emmanuel Macron, on his fourth visit to India, announced that India and France have elevated ties to a Special Strategic Partnership during a press meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mumbai. The leaders also inaugurated the H125 helicopter assembly line in Karnataka and launched the India-France Year of Innovation.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Nationalist Party chief Tarique Rahman was sworn in as Prime Minister after his party won 209 of 299 seats, with the Opposition boycotting the ceremony.

In Delhi, a court granted bail to all 12 accused in the Turkman Gate demolition violence case, where six policemen were injured during clashes.
