The Supreme Court has delivered a landmark ruling, saying the absence of separate toilets and menstrual hygiene facilities in schools violates girls’ fundamental rights, and ordering all schools to provide free sanitary napkins and awareness programmes. It also termed unapproved stem cell therapy for autism as medical malpractice.

Meanwhile, the Calcutta High Court directed West Bengal to hand over land to the Border Security Force for India-Bangladesh border fencing by March 31.
