Noise - Episode July 16, 2026

Tune in to Noise, a sonic expedition from the studios of CJSW 90.9 FM that charts the vast and often uncharted territories of sound. This isn't a curated playlist of familiar tunes; it's a dedicated space for the experimental, the unconventional, and the boldly creative. Each episode functions as an audio document, presenting raw improvisation, the complex dialogues of free jazz, and meticulously crafted contemporary compositions. You'll encounter spoken word pieces that bend narrative, mash-ups and plunderphonics that re-contextualize the familiar, and deep dives into ambient textures and electronic frontiers. The Noise podcast actively seeks out what's described as avant, post-rock, extreme, and from the outer limits, offering a consistent platform for artists and works that defy easy categorization. Listening is an act of discovery, where the structure of each hour is dictated by the art itself rather than any commercial format. It’s for those who believe the most interesting music often resides just outside the mainstream, waiting to be heard.
