NOT The Footy Show - NRL Podcast
NOT The Footy Show-NRL Podcast is a long-running voice in Rugby League commentary, operating since 2010 with a stubbornly independent perspective. This podcast sidesteps the polished presentation of mainstream sports media, offering analysis and conversation that feels more like a candid discussion among knowledgeable fans. Hosted by W D Nicolson, the show delves into the National Rugby League season, exploring weekly results, team performances, and the larger narratives shaping the sport. Listeners will hear a focus on the strategic and often unpredictable elements of the game, alongside a willingness to critique and question without pretense. The tone is straightforward and dedicated, reflecting a deep engagement with Rugby League that prioritizes substance over flash. It’s a podcast for those who follow the NRL closely and appreciate a viewpoint that isn't decorated by corporate ties or forced enthusiasm. Each episode builds on a foundation of genuine fandom and a critical eye, providing a consistent alternative take on the weekly grind and drama of professional Rugby League. The show has carved out its niche precisely by not being a typical footy show, instead committing to its own path for over a decade. You can find more from the podcast through its official blog.
