Sheeran's Tour in Political Crosshairs | Oakland News

Ed Sheeran’s tour hit a major blow when Macklemore was dropped from North and South American dates for speaking out on Palestine — sparking a chain reaction as four other artists, including Sheeran’s own band, walked away in solidarity. Finneas stood firm, declaring artists shouldn’t be silenced, while Beoga cited Ireland’s colonial past to justify their stance. Though Sheeran insists he’s kept politics out of his shows and clarified the promoter, not him, made the call, he’s now under pressure to balance his platform with rising calls for justice. The tour continues, but the fallout has thrust the debate into the spotlight.
