Episode #368 Join the Conversation with AflerGlo Wellness Society

Author: Mark Meincke September 9, 2026 Duration: 50:56

New Episode featuring Paul Farrell, Founder and Director of AfterGlo Wellness Society Ltd, is out now!

AfterGlo Wellness Society Ltd. is a Veteran-led, federally incorporated Canadian not-for-profit organization focused on improving mental-health outcomes for Veterans and first responders through research, education, advocacy and partnership.

They bring together Veterans, families, researchers, healthcare professionals, universities, governments, employers and community organizations to strengthen support for properly authorized clinical research and evidence-informed public education.

AfterGlo Wellness Society Ltd. was founded from lived experience with military service, Veteran mental-health challenges and the effects those challenges have on families.

Paul Farrell’s experience as a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran and Jennifer Farrell-Sleeth’s experience as a Veteran partner and implementation leader shape our commitment to responsible research, public education and meaningful collaboration.

Paul served with the 1st Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment, including service in Afghanistan, and later transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he worked as an aviation technician. His background also includes studies in law and security and the human-services field, along with volunteer work supporting marginalized and underrepresented communities.

Paul’s lived experience with military service, PTSD and the challenges of navigating mental-health care gives him a direct understanding of the gaps Veterans and their families face. Those experiences led him to establish AfterGlo Wellness Society Ltd.

His work now focuses on bringing Veteran voices into research and public policy, building relationships among governments, universities, researchers, clinicians and community organizations, and advancing properly authorized clinical research addressing PTSD and treatment-resistant mental-health conditions.

Hosted by Mark Meincke, Operation Tango Romeo, the Trauma Recovery Podcast creates a vital space for those who have served in the military, veterans, first responders, and their families. The journey through PTSD and trauma recovery is undeniably difficult, and this series is built on the understanding that it cannot be walked in isolation. Instead of clinical jargon, you’ll hear real, unscripted conversations and personal stories from people who genuinely understand the terrain. There’s a unique power in listening to others who have been there, finding echoes of your own experience in their words, and that shared recognition becomes a form of peer support in itself. This podcast functions as a companion, reinforcing that you are not alone, which in itself is a profound step toward healing. Each episode aims to provide not just insight, but a sense of connection and practical solidarity. Tuning into this podcast means joining a community focused on resilience and recovery, where honest dialogue about the challenges and triumphs of trauma takes center stage. Mark guides these essential conversations, ensuring the content remains grounded and directly relevant to those who need it most.
