5-18-23 Dave Bartoo

Author: Bo Bounds May 18, 2023 Duration: 27:47
College football guru Dave Bartoo joins the show on the Farm Bureau guest line talking SEC football and two-point conversions. Bartoo starts the conversation discussing his latest project for Hemps for Pros and reminiscing about the time he brought his golf clubs to Pearl River Resort in a gun case. Bartoo takes a deep dive into the numbers behind two-point conversions in college football. Bartoo makes the case that going for two is never worth it unless you're down to your final possessions and have to have two points for a chance to win. Bartoo shows the numbers indicate that chasing a two point try only costs you points and potentially wins. Bartoo discusses his theory on fourth down attempts and when it makes sense to go for it on fourth down instead of punting or kicking a field goal. Bartoo talks about how teams that forego the field goal to chase the touchdown don't tend to fair well over the long run. Bartoo previews the Auburn football schedule in Hugh Freeze's first season on The Plains. Bartoo talks about what might be the toughest three-game stretch in college football when the Tigers face Texas A&M, Georgia, and LSU in the middle of the season. Bartoo walks through the schedule giving his prediction for each game and what to expect from Freeze's first season in Auburn. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
