NFL veteran and CBS analyst Steve Beuerlein joins the show live in the mobile BankPlus Studio talking about his career as a Notre Dame and NFL quarterback. Steve talks about his college years playing for Lou Holtz at Notre Dame, and how he credits Coach Holtz with saving his football career in his senior season. Steve discusses being drafted into the NFL by the then Las Angeles Raiders and how owner Al Davis didn't want him to be the starter. Steve discusses taking on LSU in Death Valley and losing to eventual National Champion Penn State by just four points. Steve talks about going undefeated against Southern Cal in his four seasons at Notre Dame and growing up as a UCLA fan as a California kid, the school he first committed to out of high school. Steve talks about how his choosing Notre Dame opened the door for Troy Aikman to go to UCLA the following season.
